SARTHI, NGO for Girl Child Education in Uttarakhand, India
Sarthi is a Non-Profit Organisation that aims to provide underprivileged girls from remote areas of Uttarakhand a nurturing environment to educate them, to raise their living standards and to create future leaders.
Young girls aged 10 and above from a weak social and economic background are provided accommodation, food, health care, a formal education (up to post-graduation), vocational training and other basic amenities absolutely free of cost at our centre in Ramnagar, Uttarakhand.
Our objective is to facilitate learning not only in a formal setting (school, college) but also through non formal education so that each child acquires and maintains the skills, abilities and temperament needed to adapt to a constantly changing environment.
The idea is to provide the girls with a holistic environment for all round physical and mental development in a safe and secure environment and help them assume leadership roles and be part of a larger universe so that every child goes back as an educated, independent and socially aware person.
We want to create change makers not only for their family but also for the society and the nation.
